Situated on the shores of Lake Kariba, Gache Gache is known for its many elephant, buffalo, hippo and massive crocodile. This beautiful spot is in the Zambezi Valley basin and forms part of a communal management programme for wildlife species. It is a fenceless area providing fair hunting and borders with Charara Zimbabwean National parks and Wildlife Area. The stunning beauty of the lake captures you whilst relaxing in camp. Some species such as bushbuck, are regular visitors during daytime hours.
The location of Gache Gache in the Kariba Dam provides the advantage of good opportunities of taking trophy hippo and huge crocodile. For fishing enthusiasts, the Kariba Dam is a popular fishing spot. The different species that can be found include the tiger fish, chessa, bream (niloticus), huge catfish, electric eel, electric barbal, nkupe and many others.
Driving time from Harare to Gache Gache Camp is approximately 7 hours by road, and 1 hour 45 minutes by private air charter using a Cessna 206.
